Young Workers See Benefits of RTO

In an apparent turnaround, young workers who had previously preferred to work remotely are starting to understand that being in the office has its benefits. Initially, new professionals thoroughly embraced working from home. However, as time passed, they realized they were missing career-building opportunities by avoiding the office. On top of that, working from home often led to feelings of isolation. Employer mandates that workers return may also have played a role.

Economists from the Federal Reserve, University of Virginia, and Harvard found that young, fully remote workers received less training and had fewer chances for advancement than staff who were physically in the office.
