The Case for Learning in an AI-Driven World

Given the prevalence of AI tools that can conduct many tasks formerly exclusive to humans, students, hirers, and academics are wondering about the future of education: why bother learning if AI can do the job?

 It’s a valid point. AI can summarize, find facts (and make them up!) and synthesize huge amounts of data. So why go to the trouble of learning, applying concepts, becoming a competent writer, or memorizing facts?
